Here are a few simple products I use every day that support my small daily habits as a new mom. These are not about perfection. They are about making life feel easier, more supported, and more manageable in this season of motherhood.
When I started building simple daily habits, I realized that having the right tools made the biggest difference. These are the products I personally reach for in my everyday routine.

10 Simple Habits That I Do Daily as a First-Time Mama
**These ten habits are in no particular order of importance, but the last one will bring you the most peace in your day!**
Take a Daily Walk as a New Mom
Why walking supports your body and mind
Taking a daily walk can do wonders for your physical and mental health.
For our family, walking has become a daily rhythm we genuinely look forward to. It gives my husband and me time to connect, talk, and slow down together at the end of the day.
After becoming a stay at home mom, this time became even more important. I went from constant conversation to very quiet days, and I craved connection.
Because of that, our daily walk became my guaranteed time to talk, process my day, and get fresh air.
Tips to make walking doable with a newborn
Getting outside with a newborn does not have to be complicated.
You can use a stroller with bassinet mode for naps, try a baby carrier for hands free movement, or let your partner take the lead so you can simply enjoy the moment.
Even a short walk can boost your mood and help you feel more like yourself again. Here is our stroller that is easy to use, lightweight, and grows with your baby.

An Easy Way to Hit Your Steps at Home
When I became a stay-at-home mom, getting my daily steps in became a lot more challenging. Some days, even a long walk wasn’t enough to reach my goal.
If you’re tracking your steps and need a simple solution, I highly recommend investing in a walking pad. During the season when my son was taking multiple naps, I made it a small daily habit to walk for 30 minutes on my walking pad while reading a book or watching one of my favorite shows.
It made reaching my step goal so much easier and felt like a little mental reset in my day. I’ll link the one I use here! I mainly recommend it for walking—I don’t love it for running.

Stay Hydrated for Energy and Recovery
Why hydration matters in postpartum
If there is one small habit that can quickly improve how you feel, it is hydration.
During pregnancy, I focused heavily on drinking enough water. However, postpartum was a different story. I felt depleted, exhausted, and constantly trying to stay hydrated. It felt like I could never get enough!
At one point during breastfeeding, I struggled with low energy and milk supply. My pediatrician recommended adding a high-quality electrolyte.
Although the first brand I tried worked, it tasted terrible. I stuck with it because I needed the results.
A simple hydration habit that works
Later, I found a better option that completely changed my routine. Flavors I actually looked forward to, and they didn’t taste like chalk.
Now I drink an electrolyte “mama mocktail” every morning, and it has made a noticeable difference in my energy, hydration, and overall recovery.
If you are looking for a simple habit with a big impact, this is one to start with.
If you want to try the one I use, you can shop it here.

Create Simple Daily Rhythms That Serve You
Simple resets during the day
Creating rhythms in your day brings a sense of peace.
For me, small resets throughout the day make the biggest difference. They help my home feel calmer and more manageable. If you want to see exactly how I manage my home with a baby, you can read more here: How to Manage Your Household With a Baby
Morning sunshine and fresh air
Another rhythm that has changed my days is getting outside in the morning.
After breakfast, my son and I step outside. Sometimes we go to the park. Other days we sit in the backyard while I drink my coffee and he plays.
Either way, that morning light gives both of us a mood boost.
10/10 recommend adding daily morning sunshine to your daily routine if that’s not your norm. Sunshine is free dopamine!
How routines make life feel manageable
Predictable routines reduce mental load.
For example, Mondays are my reset day. I grocery shop, prep meals, and use my crockpot for dinner.
Because of that, the rest of the week feels easier.
Small systems like this remove decision fatigue and create more peace in your day. Here’s another simple habit that makes my day a little easier in real life.

Eat Enough and Prioritize Protein
Why consistent meals matter
Nutrition plays a huge role in how you feel as a new mom.
Even though I knew this, I struggled to eat enough during the newborn stage. Cooking felt overwhelming, and my normal routines no longer worked.
Because of that, I had to simplify everything.
Simple meal ideas for busy moms
One habit that has helped me is making a crockpot meal every Monday.
This gives me a head start on the week and makes it easier to stay consistent with meals. I share these weekly meals on Instagram.

Using protein as support
If you are struggling to eat enough, adding a daily protein shake can help fill the gaps.
I drink Equip protein daily and love how simple and clean the ingredients are. My favorite flavors are chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.
It is not about perfection. It is about giving your body the support it needs.
Build Habits That Help You Feel Your Best
Simple self care that boosts your mood
Self care does not have to be complicated.
For me, the biggest mood boosters are movement and a simple get ready routine.
Even five minutes of getting dressed, adding a little makeup, and feeling put together can completely shift how I feel.
Small habits like this help you show up as your best self each day.

Connect with Other Moms for Support
Why connection matters in motherhood
Motherhood can feel lonely, especially in the beginning.
I went from constant interaction to long quiet days with a newborn. It was a big adjustment.
Because of that, I had to be intentional about staying connected.
Simple ways to stay connected
One of the most meaningful habits I started was something called Waffle Wednesday.
Each week, my friends and I send voice messages, life updates, and prayer requests. It has been one of the most impactful rhythms in my motherhood journey.

How to meet moms in your area
If you are looking to meet other moms, here are a few simple ideas.
- Visit your local park during the day
- Attend library story time
- Join or start a playgroup
- Create a virtual book club
Making friends as an adult can feel hard, but taking one small step can lead to meaningful connection. My best encouragement is to be the initiator, put yourself out there, say hello first, and start the conversation.
Prioritize Simple Self Care Daily
Self care does not need to be complicated
You cannot pour from an empty cup.
At first, I felt like I needed to give my baby my full attention every moment. Over time, I realized that taking care of myself made me a better mom.
Making time in real life
For me, that looks like working out while my son is awake.
He plays while I move my body, and it has become a rhythm that works for both of us.
Your version of self care might look different, and that is okay. The key is making it a priority.
Seek the Right Support in Motherhood
Having support can completely change your experience as a new mom.
Sometimes, the best support is the support you invest in.
Here are a few that made a difference for me:
Lactation support for feeding guidance
Chiropractic care for physical alignment
Pelvic floor therapy for postpartum recovery
I also highly recommend the Natal App by Nancy Anderson for guided recovery and strength building.

Investing in support can give you confidence, relief, and peace of mind.
Make Time for Yourself Every Day
Why me time matters
It is easy to lose yourself in motherhood.
Your days become focused on caring for your baby, managing your home, and meeting everyone else’s needs.
Because of that, creating time for yourself is essential.
Creating a simple daily habit
For me, this looks like waking up early before my son.
That quiet time that I used to write to you has become something I look forward to every day.
Start small. Even 30 minutes can make a difference.
Focus on Spiritual Nourishment
Finding peace in your day
If you are looking for true peace, this is the most important habit.
A relationship with God has been the foundation for everything in my motherhood journey.
Simple ways to stay consistent
You can start by reading the Bible and praying daily.
It does not have to look perfect. You can pray while driving, washing dishes, or playing with your baby.
Let go of the idea that it has to be quiet or structured.
Consistency matters more than perfection. Read more here: One Simple Habit That Changed My Marriage, Motherhood, and Faith
How to Make Small Daily Habits Stick as a New Mom
Building small daily habits for new moms does not have to feel overwhelming.
Start with one habit.
Once it feels natural, add another.
You can also stack habits together. For example, drink your electrolytes while making your morning coffee.
Over time, these habits become part of your daily rhythm without extra effort.

They are not about doing more. They are just simple tools that help support the daily habits that make my days feels a little easier and keep me properly fueled!
